Three men doing push ups in empty office room

Total Quality Logistics pushed up from a two-man operation in 1997 into a $2.1 billion, 3,500-employee powerhouse in the third-party logistics industry. Now the company – with 34 satellite offices across 19 states – is pushing up for a good cause.

TQL joined the national Pushups For Charity initiative Wednesday, Aug. 19, kicking off two different competitions to benefit the Boot Campaign.

The Boot Campaign mission is “to promote patriotism for America and our military community; raise awareness of the unique challenges service members face during and post service; and provide assistance to military personnel - past and present - and their families.”

For satellite offices, competitors around the country squared off to see who could do the most pushups in a minute.* Winning cities advance through the bracket each day leading up to the finals Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Watch Team Tampa, which set the standard in the first round with 97 pushups to defeat Team Lexington (83). Team Indianapolis recorded 95 pushups in a first-round win against TQL Chicago.

It’s a long way off and anything can happen, but Tampa and Indy are in opposite brackets and could be headed for a showdown in the finals.

One day after the satellite finals, TQL will host a patio party at headquarters during which employees will compete as teams and individuals to see who can do the most pushups in an untimed competition.

TQL will announce its fundraising total – the combined efforts between the satellite offices and headquarters - during the Aug. 27 event.

*The world record for most pushups in a minute is disputed; claims range from 140 to 199.
