Governor Corbett Announces Expansion of Total Quality Logistics to Pittsburgh, Creating 75 New Jobs
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - Continuing to advance his JOBS1st PA initiative, Governor Tom Corbett announced today that Total Quality Logistics, LLC, a freight brokerage firm, has established an office in Pittsburgh. The move will create 75 new jobs.
“Our economy is growing and companies continue to invest and expand in a stronger Pennsylvania,” said Corbett. “Our partnership with Total Quality Logistics will result in new growth and the addition of 75 new jobs in Pittsburgh.”
In 2012, Gov. Corbett launched JOBS1st PA as a comprehensive roadmap to economic recovery that harnessed the state’s resources and talents to prioritize private-sector job creation and retention. Today, Pennsylvania's unemployment rate stands at a five-year low and jobs have been growing on a consistent basis for nearly four years.
Total Quality Logistics, LLC (TQL) has entered into a lease for a 6,900-square-foot office space to house new logistics account executives at Station Square in Pittsburgh. TQL has also committed to creating at least 75 new jobs within three years.
”We are looking for sales account executives with a drive and desire to be great and that spirit is prevalent in the City of Pittsburgh,” said TQL Executive Vice President, Kerry Bryne. “It is important for us to locate in states that share our passion for economic development and job growth.”
The company received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development including a $63,750 Guaranteed Free Training grant to be used to train its new workforce. Additional funding includes a $75,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant that facilitates investment and job creation and $75,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits. TQL has accepted the funding proposal, but must still apply for each loan and grant and agree to the terms prior to award receipt.
The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the Governor and work with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania.
