Total Quality Logistics ranks among region’s fastest growing private companies

Cincinnati, OH (Feb. 28, 2023) — Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the second-largest freight brokerage firm in North America and Cincinnati’s largest private company, is No. 121 on the annual Inc. 5000 Regionals: Midwest list, the most prestigious ranking of fastest-growing Midwest private companies.

Part of the annual Inc. 5000 list, the ranking is based on company gross revenue growth rate from 2019 to 2021. During that period, TQL doubled its staff, grew gross revenue 131% and continued expansion of business lines beyond Full Truckload to a suite of 15 modes and services.

The total combined revenue of all 202 Midwest honorees was $22.9 billion. TQL’s 2021 revenue represents 18% of the total and is testament to the company’s track record of growth at scale. TQL is a 16-time Inc. 5000 honoree and a 15-time Fast 55 honoree by the Cincinnati Business Courier as one of the fastest-growing private companies in Greater Cincinnati.

“Being named to the Inc. 5000 Regionals: Midwest list is an honor,” said TQL President Kerry Byrne. “Growth at this rate, and at our size, is not common and evidence of the commitment of our people to exceed expectations every day.”

The companies on Inc.’s list show a remarkable rate of growth across all industries in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The complete results of the Inc. 5000 Regionals: Midwest can be found here.

“This year’s Inc. 5000 Regional winners represent one of the most exceptional and exciting lists of America’s off-the-charts growth companies. They’re disrupters and job creators, and all delivered an outsize impact on the economy. Remember their names and follow their lead. These are the companies you’ll be hearing about for years to come,” said Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. Magazine.

Methodology

The 2023 Inc. 5000 Regionals are ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2019 and 2021. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2019. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of Dec. 31, 2021. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2019 is $100,000; the minimum for 2021 is $1 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons.
