$100,000 raised and 36,000 pounds moved during TQL’s Cancer Awareness Month

After expanding our 10-year breast cancer campaign, Pinktober, to Cancer Awareness Month, TQL went all in and had a record-breaking month, raising $100,000 for the American Cancer Society (ACS). We booked loads, honored loved ones, fundraised, and pulled a 36,000-pound semi-truck for a cure.

For 10 days, employees got creative holding bake sales, office competitions, and decorating desks to raise $36,420. At the end of the fundraising competition the top teams sent a representative to TQL HQ to compete in a semi-truck pull. At a party that was live streamed to TQL offices across the country, three teams went head-to-head to see who could pull a semi-truck 180 feet in the fastest time. In a competition that pushed their strength to the limit, Sales Team Hendricks clocked in at 1 minute and 1.81 seconds, beating out Sales Team Carr, Sales Support and the Executive Team. The winning members of Team Hendricks, comprised of employees from Birmingham, Detroit, Fort Wayne, Houston, Knoxville, Memphis, Salt Lake City and St. Louis, took home trophies and won donuts for their entire region.

Mid-October, TQL partnered with our customers and carriers and ran our annual Loads for a Cure campaign. In a record-breaking week, TQL donated a portion of each load moved, totaling $36,598.

TQL proudly matched what was raised and presented a check for $100,000 to ACS at the Semi-Truck Pull on October 29, bringing the total donated over the past 10 years to the fight against cancer to $411,000.
