Never Give Up

Play For 22 on the back of a tshirt

The TQL corporate giving and events teams were in go-mode today as two major celebrations took place at Ivy Pointe headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio: our Memorial Day Check Presentation and our 3-on-3 national basketball tournament. Both are staples of the TQL corporate culture. Both are in their seventh year. And both are in tribute to those who have gone before us; gone too young, but gone down fighting.

No one celebrates better than we do at TQL. Patio parties, gold painted toilet plungers, and beer drops on Friday are just a few of the ways we recognize accomplishments. We revel in reaching these goals because the work to get there is hard. Sometimes grueling. Sometimes not immediately rewarding. Almost always requiring sacrifice.

Hauls for Heroes: TQL Vice President Gary Carr presented a check this morning in the amount of $24,260 to Keith Maupin from the Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation. This local organization was started in honor of Keith's son and solider Matt Maupin, who lost his life in Iraq fighting for our freedom. The week we designated for this fundraising effort - May 11 to 17 - we arranged more loads than we have in our nearly 18-year history. 3:3 National Basketball Tournament, in honor of Lauren Hill: Before tonight's tip-off, TQL Vice President Ralph Lee presented a check for $7,855 to The Cure Starts Now to help in its fight to find a cure for pediatric brain cancer. Mount St. Joseph basketball player and teenager Lauren Hill raised more than $1.5 million for the foundation in little more than a year, until her passing on April 10. Many of us took the Layups for Lauren challenge in her honor. Some of us knew her; all of us were inspired by her.

No one celebrates better than we do at TQL. And this Memorial Day weekend we celebrate those who never gave up. #22 #USA #America #MemorialDayWeekend
