Saluting service: TQL celebrates Military Month
TQL donates $36,000 to DAV, assembles 3,500 care packagesBy Shannon Russell
Total Quality Logistics honored active-duty service members, veterans and their families during Military Month in May by making a $36,000 donation to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and assembling 3,500 care packages for veterans facing homelessness and natural disasters.
One hundred TQL’ers gathered for Helpy Hour, a happy hour with a charitable twist, to build the care packages at Cincinnati HQ on May 29. Customers, TQL’ers and community members wrote custom notes within thank-you cards for veterans and their families before the Helpy Hour. The cards were added to tote bags that included socks, toiletries and tissues.
The TQL Foundation presented the $36,000 check to DAV at the Helpy Hour. Together with our employees, customers and carriers, we have donated $510,000+ and 27,000+ care packages to active military and veterans since 2009.
