How TQL salutes military members, veterans
Military Month, Veterans Day Lunch among programs to honor service members
Total Quality Logistics proudly hires U.S. Service members and is committed to honoring and supporting active-duty military and veterans throughout the year.
We are honored to have service members on our team like mother-daughter duo Tina S. and Morgan S. Tina served 28 years in the Army before retiring and coming to TQL as a Travel Coordinator. Morgan, a TQL Senior Finance Manager, has served in the Army National Guard for 14 years.
Their shared bonds include an appreciation for TQL’s dedication to the military.
“I tell people all the time about how much TQL does. They’re like, ‘Wait, really? Everyone doesn’t do this.’ It surprises me that other places don’t do all the things TQL does,” Morgan said.

TQL, a nine-time Military Friendly Employer, salutes service members through company program and community outreach. From Military Month and Veterans Day Lunch to a Deployment Program that provides care packages, we strive to show our gratitude for those protect our freedom.
We’d like to highlight how we honor those who serve as November’s National Veterans and Military Families Month comes to a close.
Veterans Day Lunch
Every Veterans Day, we provide a catered lunch for all military employees as a tribute to their service. At this year’s Military Veterans lunch, we saluted 398 veterans who contributed 2,272 years of combined service to our country.
Military Month
May is Military Appreciation Month. This year, we collected donations through our 15th Hauls for Heroes campaign, created a Military Tribute Wall inside headquarters, brightened our building's exterior with patriotic lights, assembled care packages during a Helpy Hour and presented checks to military charities.
Hauls for Heroes is an initiative in which TQL makes a donation for a designated week in May. We collected $60,320 for Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and United Service Organizations (USO) in 2023.
We also assembled 7,000 care packages for the troops during our Helpy Hour at headquarters. Prior to the Helpy Hour, we invited customers, carriers, TQL’ers, friends, family and the public to thank soldiers and their families by designing free care packages.
Tina and Morgan helped assemble the care packages.
“I knew how important it was. It was so much fun getting things from home,” said Tina, who was deployed to Iraq for 15 months during her career.
Together with our employees, customers and carriers, we have donated more than $438,800 and 19,500 care packages to active military and veterans since 2009.
Deployment Program
As part of our Deployment Program, we send deployed TQL service members care packages filled with company swag, snacks and handwritten notes from their team and our CEO. We also send gift cards to the families of our deployed employees to show our support.
The gesture resonated with Morgan when she was deployed to Kuwait.
“So many people reached out to me from TQL, checking up on me, sending cookies and baked goods. I even got a signed card from the CEO,” Morgan said. “I didn’t see other people who were deployed receiving these things. They were like, ‘Where do you work?’ I also received hand-signed cards from team, which I put up in my office. It was really, really sweet.”
VETS Employee Resource Group
TQL has an Employee Resource Group (ERG) called Veteran Employees Targeting Success (VETS), which attracts and develops military, veteran, military family and supporter talent. ERGs are employee-led groups that encourage engagement and career development through shared identity. VETS, like our five other ERGs, creates community, provides resources, celebrates service and promotes personal and company growth.
Proudly Patriotic
TQL headquarters is home to a 160-foot tall flagpole and 30-by-60-foot American flag. The flagpole is among the tallest in the United States, and the flag also is among the largest nationwide.
