From patriotic props to roller coaster drops, TQL celebrated its employees and their families during the annual Summer Picnic on June 27 at Kings Island and its water park, Soak City.
A red, white and blue theme inspired by America's 250th anniversary set the tone for a festive day of food and amusement park fun for more than 2,500 attendees.
Employees from Cincinnati HQ and 22 satellite offices received parking vouchers and all-day access to the parks, including 15 roller coasters and Planet Snoopy’s kids’ rides.
TQL’s annual summer tradition started in 2006 and returned to Kings Island for an eighth straight year. In a fast-paced logistics industry, the Summer Picnic gives TQL’ers a chance to step away from the day-to-day and reconnect with the people behind the work.

This year’s event featured a complimentary dinner in the picnic grove, games, face painting, crafts and photos to take home. Some employees posed before greenscreen backgrounds with festive props of their choosing, while others joined superheroes Wonder Woman and Captain America with plastic shields and lassos.
The Summer Picnic had something for everyone:
- An Adult Cornhole competition debuted for entrants 18 and older. The winners (TQL’ers Brent and Justin) were awarded $100 gift cards and trophies.
- Volunteers handed out TQL-branded drawstring bags and red, white and blue water bottles in the Kids Club tent. Kids also were invited to color USA-themed bandanas at a craft station.
- TQL Cares, the company’s corporate giving and community engagement program, hosted a kids’ picnic basket toss game with free sunglasses as prizes. Cares donated $5,000 to IPM Food Pantry after the event as part of its broader giving mission.
- DJ Jon Jon emceed the event, including a Bingo game with over 150 prizes.
- TQL’ers and their families were treated to a dinner buffet of burgers, chicken tenders, mac and cheese, baked beans, fruit, chips, ice cream and unlimited soft drinks.
- TQL also hosted a separate picnic earlier in the day for Big Brothers Big Sisters, bringing together more than 160 participants from the Cincinnati chapter, including children and families still waiting to be matched.
- Guests of all ages enjoyed roller coasters and water slides before and after the picnic.
With the help of volunteers and a full slate of activities, the Summer Picnic once again delivered a day of connection, celebration and summer fun for TQL employees and their families.
