TQL Wins Best in Cargo Security Award from CargoNet
Cincinnati (OH) – Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the nation’s second largest freight brokerage firm, has been awarded the “Best in Cargo Security” Award for 2017 in the Larger Broker/Intermediary Category by CargoNet for its cargo theft prevention efforts. This is TQL’s second time receiving this award.
CargoNet helps prevent cargo theft and improves recovery rates through secure and controlled information sharing among theft victims, their business partners and law enforcement officials. CargoNet uses a national database and information-sharing system managed by crime analysts and subject-matter experts.
“We’re very pleased to recognize TQL’s security efforts by selecting it as a ‘Best in Cargo Security’ winner,” said Ryan Shepherd, general manager, CargoNet. “TQL clearly understands the importance of cargo security and continually applies the appropriate resources to protect its customers’ freight. We are proud to recognize these efforts and grateful for their continued support.”
Factors considered for the award include TQL’s documented security plan for in-transit cargo, it’s process for communicating theft trends and best practices and training, protocols and contingency plans for unexpected delays on the road and high-value cargo, and the extent of TQL’s utilization of the CargoNet program.
“Cargo theft is a serious international problem affecting consumers and businesses. Our internal teams at TQL work tirelessly to identify threats to our customers’ freight and ensure the well-being of all those involved in transporting loads. CargoNet is an important partner in our prevention efforts and we are honored to receive this award,” said TQL President Kerry Byrne.
TQL produces cargo safety blogs based on CargoNet tip-sheets before major holidays and other high-risk times of the year to ensure customers and carriers are aware of current threats. This information is available on the TQL website at https://www.tql.com/about-us/tqldrive-blog.
