Veterans Day At TQL Celebrates Service

When service is your primary business, it should come as no surprise military members thrive in it.

Nor should it be a surprise when that business takes time to appreciate those who served their country.

Total Quality Logistics observed Veterans Day Nov. 11 with a luncheon for its military members – past and present – honoring their service to the United States of America.

At Ivy Pointe headquarters, more than 40 employees attended. Smaller groups from the company’s 50-plus satellite offices across the country had similar events of their own.

U.S. Army veteran Gary Carr, TQL vice president of sales, thanked the vets at Ivy and distributed American flag pins to wear on their lanyards.

He also announced TQL was named a 2017 Military Friendly Employer by Victory Media just one day before.

“The timing of this was great,” Carr said. “This is the third time we’ve won this award as a Military Friendly Employer. And it’s our 18th award overall recognizing us for our work with veterans.

“We appreciate all you did and do for our country and we appreciate all you’re doing for TQL. You’re the reason we get awards like these. Thank you.”

While Veterans Day was a chance to offer face-to-face thanks to our own service men and women, TQL has been – and remains - busy with military events all month. The company sponsored the Disabled American Veterans 5K in downtown Cincinnati Nov. 5 and sponsors the Honor Run Half Marathon in Florence, Ky., Nov. 13.

Headquarters' windows are also lit in green to show support for our troops as part of the Greenlight a Vet program, the second consecutive year for that campaign.

For all who served, we’re grateful. For any military members who would like to keep serving in a different capacity, click here to see open positions with TQL.
