TQL salutes the troops with another successful Military Month
Annual May program yields $60,000 donation and 7,000 free care packages
May means Military Month at TQL, and this year’s campaign provided a strong tribute to active-duty military members, veterans and their families for preserving our freedom.
We amassed donations through our 15th annual Hauls for Heroes campaign, created a Military Tribute Wall inside headquarters, brightened our building's exterior with patriotic lights, assembled care packages during a Helpy Hour, presented checks to military charities and concluded TQL Cares' annual program with a spirited game of Tug of War.
Hauls for Heroes is an initiative in which TQL makes a donation for a designated week in May. We selected May 15-21 and proudly collected $60,320 for Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and United Service Organizations (USO).
We assembled 7,000 care packages for the troops during our Helpy Hour at headquarters. Prior to the Helpy Hour, we invited customers, carriers, TQL’ers, friends, family and the public to thank soldiers and their families by designing free care packages.
Supporters digitally built the care packages and personalized them with notes. We took it from there by printing the messages, purchasing the contents (chips, gum, cereal, cookies, playing cards and more) and boxing up the packages for distribution.
Together with our employees, customers and carriers, TQL has donated more than $438,800 and 19,500 care packages to active military and veterans since 2009.
While May and Military Month have come to a close, TQL’s appreciation for those serving our country does not stop. We show support and gratitude for our military and veteran service members throughout the year.
We have an Employee Resource Group called Veteran Employees Targeting Success (VETS), which attracts and develops military, veteran, military family and supporter talent. We do this by creating community, providing resources, celebrating service and promoting personal and company growth.
TQL is also committed to hiring the best of the best, and that includes employing veterans and active-duty military.
