After spending three years in full-time active duty with the Air Force Reserve 445th Force Support Squadron at Wright Patterson AFB, Staff Sergeant LeeAnn Ryan struggled trying to figure out how her skills would translate into a civilian job.

“I supported multiple companies to make sure they were green to deploy and implemented a system to account for all members at all times,” she said. “The tasks I did do not always make sense to those who do not have a military background.”

Then LeeAnn’s Master Sergeant on base told her about job opportunities at Total Quality Logistics and explained how they are a freight brokerage firm headquartered in nearby Cincinnati.  LeeAnn went to the careers at TQL page and applied online for a job in the Marketing department.

She started her career at TQL as the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Marketing, but was quickly approached by recruiting management to head up military recruiting at TQL. Now LeeAnn has what she calls her “dream job,” helping other service members find a career where they can leverage their unique skillsets.

“TQL provides paid training and it doesn’t matter what the service member’s background is, we can still set them up for success,” she said. “I’m very passionate about helping the men and women who have served our country.”

Little did LeeAnn know her dream job at TQL would also lead to her dream job of life – being a mom.   Her partner, Joe Ball, was featured during last year’s military month campaign.  After two years together, the couple gave birth to their daughter, RaeLynn, on Jan. 27, 2017.

“I feel very fortunate to work for a company that supports family as well as the military,” said LeeAnn.  Not only does the company recognize and thank military personnel with events like Military Month,  Pushups for CharityGreenlight a Vet and the annual Veterans Day luncheon, but now she and Joe get to take part in events the company plans for TQL employees to enjoy with their families, like the annual summer picnic and Cookies and Cocoa with Santa.
