Team Tampa Bestows Everyday Blessings

TQL works every day to be the best in the freight brokerage business. So when Team Tampa looked for an organization to assist, Everyday Blessings made a lot of sense.

Everyday Blessings takes in abused, neglected or abandoned children through a live-in residential care program.  One of its goals is to ensure siblings – some as many as five in a family – are kept together until a safe, stable and permanent home is found.

Senior logistics account executive Jonathan S. is a member of the The Krewe of Ybor, a cultural and philanthropic organization in nearby Ybor City that works closely with Everyday Blessings. This is the second year TQL Tampa has supported its back-to-school and Christmas drives.

The partnership with TQL planned four gifts each - something to wear, something to read, something they want and something they need – for eight children ranging in age from 18 months to 5 years old.

They collected enough money and gifts to supply Christmas cheer for the original eight and two additional kids as well, bringing their total to 10.

“It was a complete Team Tampa effort - all four sales teams, recruiting, training, Logistics Sales Support and IT,” said group sales manager Jeff R. “These children leave their homes only with the clothes on their backs. This was an amazing opportunity for TQL Tampa to give back to children who would go without.”

Jeff said it wasn’t too difficult to gather the gifts.

“We were not asking a ton,” he said. “But with 200-plus employees in this office we can truly make a difference in the lives of these little kids.  We wanted to pull together and show them that there can be a Christmas miracle.”

TQL Cares for the Holidays shines a spotlight on what some of our people and teams around the company and country are doing to make their communities better during this traditional season of giving.
