Ho, ho, ho! TQL’s Pancakes with Santa brings holiday cheer

Total Quality Logistics transformed into a winter wonderland with holiday crafts, a scrumptious breakfast and a visit from the jolly old elf during the annual Pancakes for Santa celebration at HQ campus.

Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted 1,400 TQL’ers and their families during the Dec. 3 festivities featuring family, fun and goodwill. TQL’s 12th consecutive Pancakes with Santa, the first edition inside HQ since 2019 due to the pandemic, brimmed with glad tidings.

TQL’ers dined on a Christmas feast – pancakes, Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, potatoes, biscuits, gravy and drinks – and showed off their creativity at craft stations.

Kids made ornaments, spun a big wheel for a prize after correctly guessing Christmas trivia, posed for photos with Rudolph and Suzy Snowflake characters, and played Pin the Nose on Rudolph.

And that wasn’t the only reindeer game. A craft to create Rudolph’s reindeer “food” with oats and glitter was a hit.

TQL Cares, TQL's philanthropic program, provided a charitable component through kid-designed bookmarks that captured the giving spirit of the season. TQL Cares’ “Color a Bookmark, Donate a Bookmark” station encouraged children to color and sign reindeer-inspired bookmarks for other kids.

TQL pledged $5 to the Queen City Book Bank for each donated bookmark and amassed a $5,000 contribution. TQL kids took home bookmarks of their own to decorate, as well as complimentary gift bags filled with activity books and stickers.

Families sipped hot chocolate and made chocolate covered pretzels during their visit to the North Pole, but the Clauses were the biggest crowd-pleasers of all. After sitting on the laps of Santa and Mrs. Claus, children parted with candy canes and keepsake pictures to remind them of TQL’s holiday festivities for years to come.
