TQL Earns Seventh Straight Smartway Honor

SmartWay Transport Partner Getting There With Cleaner Air

Total Quality Logistics' mission since day one has been to do things the right way in the freight brokerage business.

Turns out the right way is also the SmartWay.

For the seventh straight year, The United States Environmental Protection Agency named TQL a SmartWay Partner in logistics.

“Customers ask and require TQL to have this designation,” said carrier project manager Abigail G. “It’s highly sought after by our customers and it’s important to get. Our customers like to work with carriers who work in an environmentally friendly way.”

SmartWay provides a system for tracking, documenting and sharing information about fuel use and freight emissions across supply chains. It also helps companies identify and select efficient carriers, transport modes, equipment and operational strategies to improve supply chain sustainability and lower costs.

Since its founding in 2004, SmartWay Partners have avoided emitting more than 72 million metric tons of the carbon pollution that contributes to climate change, while saving more than 170 million barrels of oil and $24.9 billion in fuel costs.

“The EPA is honoring its top environmental performers, those SmartWay Partners that have taken significant steps towards a sustainable freight transportation energy future,” said Christopher Grundler, director of the EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality.

“SmartWay recipients have become leaders in this crucial sector of our economy by embracing the mutual benefits that efficiency brings for both operational performance and environmental results.”
