TQL Hosts Bengals QB Andy Dalton
And a mighty “Who Dey” filled the air.
Cincinnati Bengals starting quarterback Andy Dalton joined the TQL team for its NFL-themed patio party.
“This is a great place, very impressive,” Dalton said. “There’s a lot of energy here. Great, great atmosphere.”
The TQL Foundation made a $10,000 donation to the Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation whose work – like the recent King for a Day event – strives to “provide opportunities, support and resources along with daily support and life-changing experiences to seriously ill and physically challenged children and their families.”
Dalton talked about some of the players he admired growing up and some of the toughest players he ever faced.
“Growing up in Texas I was more of a college fan,” he said. “The Houston Oilers left and the Texans didn’t come in until later. But I watched Tom Brady, I guess, and Peyton Manning. They’re the best. Playing against them is tough.”
“But you’ve beaten them both,” somebody called out from the crowd.
“Yeah, I guess I have,” Dalton agreed with a smile. “That’s pretty cool.”
The Bengals are off to a 3-0 start this season after winning 33-13 in Oakland, 24-19 at home against the San Diego Chargers and 28-24 in come-from-behind fashion on the road against the Baltimore Ravens Sept. 27.
“Was anybody worried yesterday,” Dalton asked the orange-and-black crowd. When many admitted they were, he feigned surprise and simply said, “Well… we weren’t,” which elicited another huge “Who Dey!”
Dalton later posed for pictures and signed autographs for the TQL team. Emcee Gary Carr raffled off a number of items, including a pair of life-sized autographed Dalton cutouts and 50-yard-line suite tickets to the Rams-Bengals game in November.
