TQL Takes Over California (Golf Course)

A little rain – or even a few moments of a lot of rain – could not dampen the fun at the the annual TQL Employee Golf Outing.

The Sept. 12 event at California Golf Course featured 34 foursomes. The winning team of Jared S., Jason S. Austin H. and Mike V. recorded a 16-under-par score of 54 in the scramble format, beating out Justin W., Greg V., Paul H. and Jordan H. by a stroke. Elliott H., Eugene W., Travis P. and Zach H.’s foursome finished third with an 11-under 59.

Scott S. won the prize for closest to the pin on the fifth hole, while Cati M. smashed the longest drive on number nine. David L. drained the longest putt on the 15th hole.

Players enjoyed a box lunch before hitting the links and a dinner of pulled pork and pulled chicken with all the trimmings after. They collected more than 60 raffle prizes ranging from clubs and balls to an autographed Bengals jersey signed by A.J. Green.

Kyle J. took home a hat full of more than $330 after winning a split-the-pot; the other half went to StarShine Hospice at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Players raised an additional $850-plus to split between Starshine and Big Brothers Big Sisters, betting they could land their tee shots in a target area on the 13th green.

(Justin W. was the only player in the field to hit the target.)
