TQL Joins Red Cross To Send Troops Holiday Cheer

While there’s no place like home for the holidays, many of our deployed brothers and sisters won’t get home to celebrate with family and friends.

So Total Quality Logistics teamed with the Red Cross to participate in the “Holiday Mail for Heroes” initiative to send a little bit of home to American military personnel.

This week TQL employees will sign 1,000 cards to American troops stationed all over the world. Specific signing areas are in the cafeteria at headquarters, as well as the Founders and Edison offices in Greater Cincinnati.

“This is a really easy thing to do that can make a difference for our troops,” said Corey D., corporate giving specialist. “They do so much for us, so it seems like a pretty simple way to let them know we’re thinking of them.”

TQL employee LeeAnn R. – an Air Force reservist – said mail call is a big deal on military bases.

“Getting that little note from home – even from somebody you don’t necessarily know – can take you home for just a minute,” she said. “It’s a big morale boost, especially during the holidays.”

More than just moral support, TQL has given more than $68,000 to military and veteran causes in 2015. Among that total was more than $24,000 to the Boot Campaign as TQL set a Guinness world record for most people doing pushups together – and the annual Hauls for Heroes effort that provided more than $25,000 to the Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation.
