He considered the odds. Then ignored them.

Andrew S. - an LC II from Team Louisville - won the grand prize of a trip for two to Ireland in TQL’s Make Your Own Luck giveaway March 17. More than 1,300 people tried for the seven-day, six-night excursion to the Emerald Isle.

“It was kind of a last-minute decision to pick the trip,” he said. “We were sitting around the office talking about it and thinking everyone was going to go for the trip. But then I just thought, ‘Let’s just go big or go home.’ I was lucky.”

Andrew is of German and Native American descent, but the history buff in him is excited to see Ireland.

“It had nothing to do with heritage,” he said. “My girlfriend and I have been wanting to go to Europe for years. This was a good way to speed that up.

“I love history, so getting to see some of the castles, maybe taking a ferry over to England. I’m a huge Premiere League Soccer fan, so maybe getting to see a game. Just to be there and get to experience all of it will be amazing.”

Andrew came to TQL in February of 2013, straight out of school, where he studied to be an air-traffic controller.

“TQL enables you to become who you really want,” he said. “Your success is a direct response to the hard work you put into it. Success is available and open to everybody.”

LAET Mike C. from Team Columbia successfully nabbed a year’s supply of Lucky Charms cereal from the contest.

“I think - remembering eating them about 15 years ago - that I did like them. I know I will now. I’m looking forward to getting that first box.”

Mike came to TQL Jan. 3 after previously working in a law firm.

“It’s a great job,” he said. “I really like being here.”
