Annual Softball Classic

The company sponsored the 27th Annual Celebrity Softball Classic July 15 at Florence Freedom Park. About 100 TQL employees were among the crowd of 3,000 to see a game benefitting the Ken Anderson Foundation and its quest to build a home for adults living with autism.

Current and former Cincinnati Bengals took on a celebrity team featuring former Cincinnati Reds, UC Bearcats, Xavier Musketeers, entertainers, a Miss Ohio winner and a professional hockey player.

Ickey Woods may have been the biggest star on hand. Instead of a traditional seventh-inning stretch, the large former running back led the crowd in his signature Ickey Shuffle to wild applause.

Among the highlights on the field, Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga picked up and removed diminutive celebrity pitcher Ed “Furniture Fair” Hartman from the mound. Adam “Pacman” Jones sped around the bases for a Bengals inside-the-park home run. But a six-run sixth inning led the celebrity team to the win.

The softball game marked TQL’s second sponsorship with the Ken Anderson Foundation this year, following the Strikes For Autism bowling event in April.
