TQL Big Digs Time In Spotlight With Little
A natural progression simply needed a nudge in the right direction.
Sam B. spent a lot of time around children.
“I’ve always had an affinity for kids,” said the first-year TQL employee. “I babysat my younger siblings’ friends a lot. My younger siblings, too, of course.”
He volunteered in Summit Country Day’s Leadership Scholars Program when he was in high school, mentoring elementary students at Coryville Catholic School.
He drifted away from volunteer work in college, but by the time he started with TQL late last spring, Sam began looking for ways to give back to the community again. When his GSM mentioned Big Brothers Big Sisters, Sam found his fit.
He went through the application and screening process and was paired with 12-year-old Kaleb in August. Now the duo stars in one of two TQL-sponsored public service announcements airing on Local 12 TV.
The spots were shot Dec. 15 at TQL’s Ivy Pointe headquarters and started airing the week after Christmas. The PSAs pave the way for a TQL/BBBS commercial that will debut during Super Bowl 50 Feb. 7.
“I've seen the YouTube clip, but haven’t gotten the chance to see it on TV yet,” Sam said. “I've been recording some shows on Local 12 with the hopes that I'll be able to actually see it on TV.”
No agents have come calling yet, but being on TV is still a pretty cool experience.
“I know Kaleb is very, very excited about it," Sam said. "He has seen it and some of his friends have seen it as well. I think he's loving the attention.”
So is BBBS.
