Top 5 Things We Learned During the Boys and Girls Club Christmas Party
When it comes to kids and Christmas, TQL really knows how to roll out the red carpet.
On December 8th, TQL hosted its 2nd annual Christmas Party for the Boys and Girls Club (BGC) of Greater Cincinnati, an organization that provides a safe and enriching place after-school for more than 5,000 at-risk youth throughout the region.
This year, yellow school busses brought 90 kids from the Clermont County BGC chapters to TQL’s corporate headquarters, where they walked the red carpet alongside cheering TQL employees and entered a winter wonderland filled with games, holiday treats, crafts and even the big guy himself - Santa Claus.
More than 30 TQL volunteers helped bring the holiday season to life for these kids, many of whom live at or below poverty level.
“Just to see the looks on the kids’ faces as they were playing games, interacting with Santa, and having fun made it that much more special,” said Stephen C., a Logistics Account Executive who helped with the games.
When you throw a party for 90 kids ages six to 14, it turns out you learn some things. Here are five of our favorites:
- Kids will eat ANYTHING covered in chocolate.
- The best gifts can’t be wrapped.
- Balloon art is best worn.
- There’s no better way to end a party than with a ginormous, indoor snowball fight.
- Our people really care – a lot.
