TQL Tampa Back On Top Workplaces List
Ever since TQL Tampa moved into its new office on Harbour Island at the end of March, Iggy has been coming to work barefoot.
Oh, he has shoes. He just carries them in a backpack while he paddleboards to and from the office.
“The job can be stressful, so paddleboarding in is a good way to keep a lid on that,” Iggy said. “It puts my mind in a completely different place than when I was driving, fighting traffic. It’s very relaxing.”
His family gave him the blue board for his birthday, which fell about a week before the move. The commute to the new office is only a few hundred yards – his building is visible across the water from the office - and takes about 10 minutes.
And good balance.
Balance is just one reason TQL is on the Top Workplaces Tampa Bay list for the fourth consecutive year.
Team members answered surveys about all aspects of life at TQL. The uncapped earning potential, the fast pace, the team culture, the belief in leadership and the company’s philanthropy all combined to push TQL Tampa into the top 15 after landing in the 44th position on the list last year.
And the new office should help make things even better in 2015.
“We have room to double and we plan to fill it up,” said office leader Chris F. “This space is beautiful. It’s in a great area with a lot to do nearby.
“The people who we have and who we want to bring in like to work hard. They like a challenge. They’re independent, but they’re part of a great team, too.”
TQL Tampa will celebrate its move to Harbour Island May 5 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house featuring company executives, as well as state and local officials.
