TQL’S Record Hauls for Heroes Campaign Assists Military

CINCINNATI (OH) - Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley helped Total Quality Logistics get in a Memorial Day mindset, joining TQL President Kerry Byrne to present a check to military charities.

Cranley visited company headquarters in Union Township, Clermont County, May 27 to celebrate the conclusion of TQL’s record-setting eighth annual Hauls For Heroes campaign.

“It’s an honor to be here at a company that’s doing so much to grow our regional economy,” Cranley said. “And it’s an honor to be here supporting and recognizing our military men and women. There really is no higher calling than serving your country.”

The Cincinnati-based freight brokerage firm arranged more loads from May 12 to 18 than any week in the company’s almost 19-year history. The 2016 total of 27,029 marked an 11-percent increase from the 2015 H4H campaign.

TQL and the mayor presented a portion of the proceeds from each of those record loads to the Yellow Ribbon Support Center, Disabled American Veterans and the United Service Organizations.

More than 4,000 TQL employees, customers, carriers and fans of each organization voted online on how to distribute proceeds with the following results:
• USO - 18 percent - $4,900
• Yellow Ribbon Support Center – 35 percent - $9,487
• Disabled American Veterans – 47 percent - $12,641.

The 2016 campaign pushed TQL’s Hauls For Heroes cumulative donation total to more than $123,000 since its inception in 2009.
