TQL Moves that Matter Gift Supports Corbin Hill Food Project

Total Quality Logistics donated $1,000 this month to the Corbin Hill Food Project as part of its Moves That Matter program.

The Corbin Hill Food Project works with “with farmers from upstate New York and community groups in New York City to deliver fresh, local produce to Harlem, Washington Heights and the Bronx - and, increasingly - other New York City boroughs.”

“The Corbin Hill Food Project is doing great work growing and distributing food for people who don’t have access to fresh produce,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL president. “Our company got its start in the produce industry and we are proud to support those in this industry who are doing things right and helping other people.”

According to Francis Carter of Corbin Hill, the gift would “cover trucking costs for us for one week of produce distribution throughout New York City. The grant would go toward connecting upstate small- to mid-sized family farms with downstate communities with limited access to fresh fruits and vegetables.”

Moves That Matter began in 2014 with a gift to the Where Angels Play Foundation. TQL learned it was entrusted to move the equipment to build the last six of 26 Connecticut playgrounds constructed in memory of each victim of the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting.

The Moves that Matter mission is to benefit charities and charitable entities arising from the experiences of TQL’s employees, customers and carriers. Every day, we work together to move freight throughout North America. While some loads contain ordinary shipments, others contain something extraordinary. They contain hope and healing.

Moves That Matter is administered by TQL Cares, the company’s employee-driven community service initiative.
