TQL Helps Organization Provide Low-Income Housing with Moves that Matter Grant
Whitesburg, Ky. – TQL announces the latest recipient of its Moves That Matter grant is Housing Oriented Ministries Established for Service (HOMES, Inc.), an organization that seeks to provide affordable, energy-efficient housing options to low-to-moderate income families.
Through the company’s Moves That Matter program, TQL is making a $1,000 gift to HOMES, Inc. to cover the delivery costs of mattresses for the nonprofit’s volunteer program. Established in 1984, the organization helps in the new construction and rehabilitation of homes for people in Letcher, Knott and Floyd counties in eastern Kentucky.
Moves That Matter benefits non-profit organizations who use the truckload transportation industry to move items that will help those in need. TQL employees, customers or carriers can nominate non-profit organizations with whom they have worked to help move an important load of freight.
“The TQL Moves That matter grant was a wonderful help in transporting 120 new mattresses donated to HOMES, Inc.,” said Seth Long, Executive Director. “TQL’s help with transportation allows us to focus our resources on our mission to provide affordable housing solutions in our community,” he added.
The mattresses replaced the old mattresses that were being used in the organization’s volunteer facility and domestic violence housing.
“A grant like this can help so many different types of organizations in so many different ways,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL President. “Taking care of the volunteers that help HOMES, Inc. clients gain stability by ensuring they have a comfortable place to rest is critically important to the success of their mission. We are happy to have made a lasting impact to such a worthy cause.”
Moves That Matter is one of the many programs administered by TQL Cares, the company’s employee-driven community service initiative.
