TQL Going for Second Straight GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® Title
Cincinnati, OH – We’re baa-aack.
Total Quality Logistics will host an attempt to break a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for the second year in row. After setting the push-ups record last summer, we’re looking to do it again - this time, for most people doing sit-ups simultaneously.
The official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® attempt takes place at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at TQL headquarters (4289 Ivy Pointe Blvd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45245). All are welcome to be a part of the record attempt. Attendees are asked to gather on the west side of the building starting at 5:30 p.m. to be counted and allowed into the staging area.
Participants must be able to perform sit-ups – feet and back flat on the ground, legs at 90 degrees, hands behind your head, rising to touch elbows to knees - for one minute to count toward the record. The number of sit-ups is not important, but proper form and continuous effort are.
The current sit-ups record is 827 people, set earlier this year by Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College in Bangor, England. (TQL broke the push-up record previously set in the similar-sounding city of Bangalore, India.) TQL is hoping to have at least 1,000 people on hand to crush the existing record.
The record attempt is all part of TQL Military Month, a month-long celebration honoring those who have served in armed forces. Last summer, Total Quality Logistics and the greater Cincinnati community raised more than $22,000 for The Boot Campaign via Push-ups for Charity. Along the way, they set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for most people doing pushups simultaneously.
The Fastrax Professional Skydiving Team will perform in the skies above TQL prior to the record attempt and there are sure to be other surprises, too.
Proceeds from TQL Military Month will benefit The Boot Campaign, Disabled American Veterans, The USO of Central and Southern Ohio and the Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation.
