Total Quality Logistics to Attempt GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® Title for Most People Performing Push-ups

VERY IMPORTANT: This record is not about the number of push-ups you can do. It is about a large group of people doing them at the same time. If you can only do 3 push-ups in 60 seconds – be there!

WHO: Total Quality Logistics, GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS, Pushups For CharityBoot Campaign

WHAT: TQL will make an attempt at its corporate headquarters in Union Twp. to beat the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for Most People Performing Push-ups at one time in a single venue. The current record is 615 people. (The company also will unofficially take on the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for Most People Performing Push-ups in multiple venues, which is 1,247, by asking each of its satellite offices across the nation to join in the fun.) TQL employees in Greater Cincinnati, friends, family, military service members, local athletes, and more are invited to take part in this record-breaking attempt. Participants can be any age but must be capable of performing non-modified (90 degree angle, no knees) pushups for a full 60 seconds.

WHY:  As part of TQL’s nationwide Pushups for Charity competition and to raise money for the Boot Campaign, which provides support to veterans transitioning back to civilian life. To date, TQL employees have raised $2,309 with fundraising efforts continuing until September 3. If the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title is broken on Thursday, TQL will not only match employee donations, but contribute an additional $10,000 to the Boot Campaign.

WHEN/WHERE: Thursday, August 27; TQL Corporate Headquarters, 4289 Ivy Pointe Blvd, Cincinnati, Oh 45245; Attempt will take place in the parking lot on the side of the building. Participants should start lining up at 5:30 p.m. to be counted and directed to the appropriate location. Official record-breaking attempt will take place around 6 p.m.

WHAT ELSE:  To break the record, participants must perform push-ups for a minimum of one minute at a pace comfortable for them. Push-ups must be done on toes and the body must remain straight throughout (no bending at the knees or waist).

TQL is also looking for volunteers to serve as independent witnesses and timekeepers. These individuals must be 18 years of age or older and have no association with TQL. For more information, contact publicrelations@tql.com.

Participants are encouraged to bring a towel, yoga mat or gloves to protect their hands on the pavement.
