New TQL Moves that Matter Program Awards Its 4th Donation

Nashville – The TQL Moves that Matter program, launched in June of this year, is awarding its fourth donation to The Society of Saint Andrew.

Employees from the TQL Nashville office today presented a check to the Tennessee Regional Director of the Society of St. Andrew. The non-profit organization, which is dedicated to helping feed America’s hungry, has used TQL to help arrange its truckload shipments and was nominated by its TQL account executive to receive this $1,000 donation.

“This is a great program because it gives our employees a chance to recognize and support non-profit customers for whom we arrange freight transportation,” said TQL Executive Vice President, Kerry Byrne.
TQL’s Moves that Matter program was sparked by the company’s experience arranging for the pickup and delivery of playgrounds for the Where Angels Play Foundation.

“The program is a great way to emphasize to our employees how important the work of arranging freight transportation is. Sometimes the shipments we move contain items to help those suffering or in need,” said Byrne.

The Where Angels Play Foundation was the first recipient of a donation from TQL;  $5,000 to assist in the construction of 26 playgrounds built in memory of each of the 26 victims of the 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Any TQL employee, customer or carrier who has had the honor of being a part of a move that mattered for a qualified 501 (c) (3) is asked to share their story by emailing MovesThatMatter@tql.com. Full program details and eligibility requirements can be found at www.tql.com/Moves-that-Matter.

ABOUT THE SOCIETY OF SAINT ANDREW

The Society of St. Andrew is dedicated to gleaning America's fields and feeding America's hungry. We provide healthy, nutritious produce to society's most vulnerable through our innovative, cost-effective Gleaning Programs. Our simple and common-sense gleaning methods enable us to provide food to the hungry for just pennies per serving. We also work to elevate awareness about the problem of hunger, the vast amount of potentially wasted produce, and help people understand how they can be part of the solution. We have been in operation since 1979 and are one of the largest non-profit gleaning organizations in the country. On average, we save and donate over 30 million pounds of produce each year to help feed the hungry. For more information, visit www.endhunger.org
