Cincinnati’s Chance to Make a $600K Impact On Its Kids Download Article

Cincinnati (OH) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati and Boys & Girls Clubs of Clermont County are off and running to raise $100,000 from new donations and new donors by June 30.

Why the fundraising sprint? The TQL Foundation has offered both organizations a powerful opportunity: it will match any new or additional individual, foundation or corporate donations received by either of these organizations, up to $50,000 per organization per year for the next three years — a $300,000 commitment.

The potential impact to youth served by these non-profits in Greater Cincinnati: $600,000 over the next three years.

“TQL is putting the first dollar on the table and saying we believe in you, today and in the future. We see this as a vote of confidence in our efforts and our mission at both organizations to help the kids of our community,” says Kathy List, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati.

The organizations hope the community-wide challenge broadens the giving appeal to a new generation of donors.

“Millennials have shown a special interest in where their money is going and how it’s being used. We hope the strong relationship we’ve built with TQL and its millennial workforce helps both organizations connect to other millennial donors, both individuals and business owners, in the community,” says Nyo Anderson Weir, Regional Development Manager of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati.

Total Quality Logistics, a freight-brokerage firm headquartered in Union Twp., has long-standing relationships with both organizations.

Its philanthropic partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters started in 2007. TQL has supported Big Brothers Big Sisters through dozens of fundraisers over the years and the company started the first program in the country to provide reimbursements to employees for outings they take with their littles.

TQL hosts an annual Christmas party and Back-to-School Field Day event at its headquarters for the students at the Boys & Girls Club of Clermont County.

“We believe strongly in both of these organizations. Our own employees are actively involved in each and both charities were top-funded organizations by our employee matching program in 2017,” says Kerry Byrne, President, TQL.

“Many people in the community aren’t aware of how closely our two organizations already work together. Many of our Bigs are paired with Littles who also participate in the after-school programs run by Boys & Girls Clubs,” says List.

“Working together, we hope this challenge allows us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of even more kids who need us most,” says Weir.

To participate in this community challenge to raise money for Cincinnati’s kids, make your donations before June 30 to:

         - Boys & Girls Clubs of Clermont County — www.bgcgc.org/donate

TQL is adding an extra incentive for its own employees to contribute to one or both organizations in one of its 59 cities by matching 100 percent of employee donations.
