Challenges other local companies to get involved
During the NFL’s biggest game Sunday, Feb. 5, fans will see a commercial for one of the community’s largest and most successful mentoring agencies, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati.
Total Quality Logistics, a longtime corporate partner of BBBS, sponsored the ad scheduled to run in the Cincinnati market on FOX affiliate WXIX. The commercial will feature children currently waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister mentor, as well as kids who recently were matched and are off the waiting list.
TQL Vice President of Sales Nathan Knipper - a one-time Little Brother – appears in the commercial highlighting several colleagues who volunteer as Bigs. He also challenges other Tri-State corporations to join TQL in supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters. The commercial will be shot at TQL’s headquarters in Cincinnati on Jan. 27.
TQL and BBBS have been partners on projects like Bowl for Kids Sake and the annual BBBS golf outing for more than a decade. This is the second straight year TQL has sponsored a Super Bowl ad. Within 48 hours of airing, last year’s commercial yielded as many requests for information on how to become a Big as BBBS normally received in three months.
“Part of our success lies in creating a strong philanthropic culture where TQL employees feel they are making a positive impact in their communities,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL President. “With Big Brothers Big Sisters, our employees can positively influence the life of a child, something that carries just as much meaning for our employee-mentors as it does for that child.”
“Having TQL as a sponsor two years in a row is not only generous, but is also a great win for everyone,” said Kathy List, BBBS President and CEO. “We’re excited to highlight the need to match more children with more volunteers and appreciate TQL’s support of our mission to create more life-changing friendships.”
Total Quality Logistics is the second largest freight brokerage firm in the nation. TQL connects customers needing to move truckload freight shipments with carriers having capacity to move them. The company’s social investments focus on children, health-and-wellness initiatives and military support. In 2016, TQL partnered with more than 285 charitable organizations across the country. TQL is headquartered in Cincinnati, and has more than 4,200 employees nationwide. Connect with TQL on the web at TQL.com, on Facebook at Life at TQL or on Twitter @TQLogistics.
