TQL Looks Back On 2016

A Planner With 2016 On it and "The End" At The Bottom

With every new year comes new resolutions to do better, be better or otherwise improve, but we have to admit - 2016 will be a hard one to beat.

From records in charitable giving to loads moved, 2016 was a pinnacle year for TQL and a fitting springboard into 2017 - our 20th year of business.

Here’s a month-by-month look back at some of our favorite blog posts of 2016.

TQL started 2016 on television, as a pair of vignettes filmed at Ivy Pointe aired on Local 12 in January in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The promo pieces gave way to a full-blown commercial during the Super Bowl Feb. 7; employees got a sneak peek during our patio party. TQL even helped set the stage for the big game. February also saw TQL testify in front of U.S. Representative Dr. Brad Wenstrup’s Congressional Field Hearing on creating jobs for the military.

We announced the results of our second-annual DietBet challenge in March, demonstrating the company’s dedication to health and wellness. By St. Patrick’s Day employees were making their own luck and getting rewarded for it.

April saw visits from the Cincinnati Reds, participation in National Volunteer Week and our annual sponsorship of Bowl For Kids Sake benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters, but nothing was as awe-inspiring at TQL’s Running Man, which saw one of our own rack up almost 70 miles in 12 hours.

May opened with TQL’s corporate team roasting the competition in the Flying Pig Marathon and Team Tampa turning smack talk into food for children in need. By the end of the month, we had a four-time champ in the annual 3-on-3 basketball tourney, as well as a visit from Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley as we made a record donation to military causes as part of the Hauls For Heroes campaign.

We shared a little humble bragging on ourselves in June as we were named to the Cincinnati Enquirer Top Workplaces list for the seventh straight year; we did it again in July when Glassdoor called us “As Cool As Facebook”; and did it again in August to celebrate TQL’s 19th birthday.

By September, Bengals QB Andy Dalton returned to kick off the NFL season, while TQL employee Jake S. and his daughter took us to a place where angels play as part of September's Moves That Matter donation.

October saw a lot of charity, including an overwhelming response to the annual Fall Giving Campaign, culminating with a record Loads For a Cure week.

In November, we celebrated our veterans and let our (facial) hair down to celebrate men’s health initiatives as part of Movember.

Finally, in December, we were overwhelmed with stories of generosity as teams around the country proved #TQLCares.

Check out our Facebook page for more photo highlights from different offices around the company.

Here’s to TQL’s 2016. And cheers to another record-breaking 2017.
