TQL Turns Pink
PINKTOBER 2015 is TQL’s month-long, go-big-or-go-home blitz to support breast cancer awareness and fundraising.
Loads for a Cure – For the fifth year, TQL will donate $1 from every load moved the week from Oct. 19 to 25 to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Fund. TQL has raised more than $120,000 to support breast cancer research and patients since 2010.
The Great Shave - TQL managers - locally and in satellite offices around the country – offer up their heads for the cause. Teams who raise certain bounties – ranging from $1,000 - $10,000 – earn the right to shave their manager’s head with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. The head shaving ceremonies will take place during a Pink Patio Party at TQL headquarters in Union Twp., Thursday, Oct. 29.
Pink Building - TQL headquarters – located in Union Township, facing I-275 near Ohio 32 – will be lit in pink all month to show the thousands of motorists passing nightly the company’s support for breast cancer fighters and survivors.
Personal Tributes – TQL will celebrate its own breast cancer fighters and survivors. Four of the company’s most valiant breast cancer fighters will be honored through emotional videos and stories. Employees can purchase pink ribbons for $1 and post them on a physical tribute wall. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
“Cancer affects every one of us at TQL, whether directly or indirectly,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL president. “We’re trying to increase our support of research with these Pinktober programs in an effort to help find a cure and make cancer a distant memory.”
Pinktober is part of TQL Cares, the company’s employee-driven community service initiative.
